Dhee Rani Programme quota increased to 5,000, grant to Rs200,000

The Punjab government has increased the quota of marriages from 3,000 to 5,000 under the Chief Minister’s Dhee Rani Programme, and the cash grant was enhanced to Rs2,00,000 from Rs100,000, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the details, after approval from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Finance Department has allocated Rs 1.7 billion for the Dhee Rani program for the fiscal year 2025-26.

The increase was approved by the Project Steering Committee of the Dhee Rani Programme, and payments of Rs. 660 million to vendors of the Dhee Rani program could not be included in the budget.

The outstanding amount of the media campaign of the Dhee Rani Programme will be cleared during the current fiscal year.

Rs 50 million required for branding of Dhee Rani celebrations in 36 districts of Punjab. Rs. 8 million will be spent on BOP cards for 5,000 marriages by 2025 and 2026. Punjab Finance Department rejected the proposal to seek additional Rs 223 million.

The Punjab Finance Department directed to run the advertising campaign through the Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR), Punjab.

The Dhee Rani program will be completed within the approved amount of Rs 1.7 billion.
