Kite-lover takes down police drone in Rawalpindi

A daring kite-lover while celebrating Basant festival has taken down a police drone in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The police’s policy to use modern technology to keep a watch on the violators proved ineffective as its ‘Eye in the Sky’ was ‘shot down’ by a 20-rupee kite.

The Basant festival exploded into celebrations from Thursday midnight in the garrison city with firing in the air and use of firecrackers.

Several people were also injured in incidents relating to the Basant.

Incidents of intense firing were reported from Sadiqabad, New Town, City Circle and Waris Khan areas.

The Rawalpindi police after much effort gave up in the end and acted like a spectator as the whole of the city was on their roofs celebrating Basant festival.
