A newlywed couple has shared the story of spending a day in an elevator.

The couple tied the knot on February 18 and they along with four other family members headed to their after-party on the 16th floor of the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Panav Jha and Victoria Jha in an interview with CNN said that on their wedding day, they got stuck in the elevator between the first and second stories.

The couple’s picture from the elevator has been circulating across social platforms widely.

“Then the doors started to open, so I could see the concrete wall right in front of me, and I could see the concrete wall behind me. I was like, that’s not normal”, said the couple.

The Charlotte Fire Department, after receiving calls from the elevator emergency came to the rescue of the couple.

The team said, “We tried all the typical things you try on an elevator call, and none of the stuff was working.”

The bride Victoria said that she felt glad that she did not get stuck alone. “At least we got to spend it together.”

On the other hand, Panav added, “It was a great story to share with the future children. “I’m going to tell my kids your mom was so beautiful, the fire department had to come.”
