Transfers, postings of several senior officers notified

The federal government on Thursday ordered transfer, posting, reinstatement and extension of many senior officers.

According to formal notifications released by the Establishment Division, former secretary of the National Food Security Division, Captain (retd) Muhammad Asif, a Grade 21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, has been reinstated into service after being suspended in connection with the wheat import scandal in May 2024 during the caretaker government. His reinstatement follows the completion of an official inquiry.

In a separate development, the federal government has appointed Naveed Kamran Baloch as the Federal Ombudsman for a period of four years.

Meanwhile, the additional charge of Chairman at the Employees’ Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) assigned to Deputy Director General Javed Ahmed Sheikh has been extended for another three months or until the appointment of a permanent officer, whichever occurs earlier. The extension has been made effective from January 30, 2026.

Additionally, the services of Anam Gulrez, a Grade 18 officer of the Office Management Group posted at the Civil Services Academy in Lahore, have been returned to the Establishment Division.

Furthermore, the deputation period of Irtaza Komal, a Grade 18 officer of the Police Service currently posted with the Pakistan Cricket Board, has been extended for one year from February 28.

Formal notifications have been issued for all the aforementioned appointments and administrative decisions.
