Afghanistan Freedom Front claims fresh attacks against Taliban forces
The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks against Taliban forces in northern Afghanistan, saying its fighters inflicted heavy casualties during operations in the provinces of Baghlan and Badakhshan, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the AFF, its fighters launched a rocket attack on a Taliban military convoy in the Doshi district of Baghlan.
The group said the convoy was travelling from Kabul to Badakhshan carrying additional personnel and military equipment.
The AFF claimed that seven Taliban personnel were killed and six others injured in the attack. It also said none of its own fighters were harmed during the operation.
The claims could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate comment from Taliban authorities.
The resistance group also reported further attacks in the Zebak district of Badakhshan, where it claimed Taliban forces suffered significant casualties.
According to the AFF, four Taliban commanders were killed in clashes over the past two days.
The group identified the dead commanders as Mullah Shadab, commander of the Zebak unit, along with Maulvi Gul Ahmadi, Mullah Faridullah and Qari Omari Lazari.
It said the three latter commanders had been leading Taliban border companies in the district.
The Taliban administration has not publicly responded to the AFF's claims.
