The much-awaited Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) long march against inflation named Mehangai Mukao March finally began on Saturday afternoon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz left their Model Town residence in Lahore for Islamabad along with hundreds of party workers.

It is pertinent to mention here that three containers were especially built to take the PML-N leaders to the federal capital.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif appealed to the masses to participate in the march in large numbers so that they could get rid of massive inflation, unemployment and other issues.

Meanwhile, PML-N Members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs) adopted a unique way of registering their protest against ‘mehngai’ (inflation) as they set out on a long march on camels.

On the other hand, PML-N office-bearers and workers in Gujranwala have done with the arrangements for the marcher’s overnight stay in the city.

Rallies from other Punjab cities also left for Gujranwala where they would merge into the main rally.  

PML-N leader Rana Tanveer is leading the marchers from Sheikhupura.

Not only the PML-N workers are enthusiastic but also the Pehlwan (wrestlers) of Gujranwala.

On the other hand, the JUI rallies coming from Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab under the banner of PDM will converge at Hakla after a few minutes, near 5pm. These rallies are part of Mehangai Mukao March which will head to Islamabad under the leadership of PDM Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. 

Earlier, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam caravan reached Multan. Pakistan Democratic Movement President and JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will lead the party rallies from Dera Ismail Khan. The JUI rally from Sindh will reach Islamabad under the leadership of Rashid Soomro. Maulana Asad Mehmood will lead party rally from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A caravan from Azad Kashmir will also head to Islamabad.  

Shehbaz urges people to join PML-N march 

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif has appealed to the people to fully participate in the Mehangai Mukao March. He urged people to come out of their houses on the call of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif so that we could give the last push to the perpetrators of inflation. 

The PML-N president goaded the nation to take part in the procession along with Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz to get rid of this excruciating inflation and cruel government. 

“People must know that inept and corrupt rulers have snatched their right and if they do not come out of their homes then these very rulers will gulp down the entire Pakistan,” Shehbaz said adding that in order to save their sinking ship, the corrupt rulers were misleading the people.

Shehbaz, Hanif Abbasi discuss long march

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a meeting with party leader Hanif Abbasi and his son Hamas Abbasi in Islamabad to discuss raft of political issues including the PML-N’s long march.

They also exchanged views on plans to welcome the party caravans coming from different parts of the country to join the PML-N long march in Islamabad.

Shehbaz also congratulated Hanif Abbasi over his son Hamas Abbasi’s acquittal in rowdyism case after four years.

Maryam Nawaz visits mother’s grave

PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Saturday visited her mother’s grave at Jatiumra before setting off to lead the party’s long march from Lahore to Islamabad.

Maryam Nawaz laid a floral wreath at the grave and also recited Holy Quran and offered Fateha.
