Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Talha Mehmood on Tuesday announced his decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that now he would be the PPP’s candidate in the Senate elections.

He said he had received a message from PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in which he had invited him to join the party. “Later President Asif Ali Zardari had a detailed meeting with me in which he gave me an invitation to join the party,” he informed.

Talha, however, said there was no bad blood between him and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

He was of the view that everybody would have to play his or her role in pulling the country out of crisis.
