Interior Minister Brig (retd) Ijaz Ahmad Shah, during a visit to the house of late PIA pilot Sajjad Gull, appealed to all concerned departments to refrain from making statements that could offend the family of the deceased.
Ijaz Ahmad Shah on Tuesday visited the family of the captain Sajjad Gull who was the pilot of the ill-fated Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane that crashed just before the landing at Karachi Airport killing 98 people.
Ijaz Ahmad Shah said the government shared the family’s grief in this difficult hour and expressed his condolences to the family. “May Allah Almighty grant you patience,” he said.
“No one can estimate your suffering, we pray that God will give you courage. In this accident we lost precious lives and national assets,” the Interior Minister said.
Sajjad Gul's death is a great loss not only for PIA but for the whole country, he added.
He assured the family members that on the directions of the Prime Minister a transparent inquiry would be held within 90 days.
