Fake NAB Sukkur director arrested in Lahore

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore on Wednesday arrested a man who would introduce himself as a senior NAB, Sukkur officer and blackmail the government officers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sometimes, Mian Muhammad Fiaz, the suspect, would pose himself as a director general (DG) NAB or as a staff officer of Bureau chairman and would call police officers, deputy commissioners and owners of different housing societies to seek favour from them.
Officials of NAB, Lahore’s Intelligence Wing told media that Rs4.4 million and weapons were also recovered from the suspect picked up from Johar Town locality of the city.
They further said that Fiaz, during his telephonic conversations with government officials, would also claim he had connections with politicians.

The NAB team, after arresting the impersonator, secured his physical remand from the court till June 8.
It is worth mentioning here that there are clear instructions from NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal that no bureau officer would call anybody in connection with probe in any case. The investigation officer would send a letter to the suspect instead.
The anti-corruption watchdog has so far arrested 10 people who would introduce themselves to people as NAB officials.
People have been asked to immediately contact NAB spokesman in case of any complaint.
NAB Karachi launches probe water theft
The National Accountability Bureau, Karachi has launched an investigation into incidents of water theft in the city.
In order to find out who is stealing the city’s water and what is the modus operandi, the bureau has sought information from the Water Board’s anti-theft cell.
