Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed rules out governor rule in Sindh
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has ruled out governor rule in Sindh, saying he has not come to Karachi on any mission, reported 24News HD TV channel Wednesday.
While talking to the media persons at his arrival in Karachi, Sheikh Rasheed said governor Sindh and Asad Umar had suggested to the Prime Minister to send him to Karachi and report him regarding the law and order situation in the province.
He said he would be able to tell the details in tomorrow’s press conference at Marriot Karachi at 4 pm. He told the reporters about his scheduled meetings with Singh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Sindh.
“I am going to meet rangers today at Rangers Headquarter and tomorrow I will meet Murad Ali Shah because law and order is a provincial subject. It is being portrayed that Karachi is burning and as there is bloodshed everywhere in the province,” he said.
“I want to make it clear that I am not on any mission. Law and order is a provincial subject. Tomorrow there is a lunch by the governor and I will attend that too.”
Responding to a query, he said there was huge corruption in NADRA and they had issued fake ID cards. Stern action will be taken against those who were responsible for this. He said he has to clean it and make the corruption elements an example.
He said he had great respect for Murad Ali Shah but he would submit the report to the PM on the basis of facts only.
Sheikh Rasheed said there was no group in PTI. “There is the only one group of PTI in this country and that is Imran Khan.” He told the reporters that the Ring Road Scandal investigation was underway.
“I am taking responsibility for cleaning Karachi from drugs but the law and order is a subject of the provincial government.
Sheikh Rasheed said Imran Khan’s government would complete its five-year tenure.
Following the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Interior Minister is Karachi to review the law and order situation and work out a strategy on the situation with law enforcement agencies.
The prime minister had directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to visit Karachi and devise a strategy with law-enforcement agencies over the law and order situation in Sindh.
