Lahore Qalandars players speak their minds out after PSL X victory
Lahore Qalandars’ six-wicket triumph over Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 10 final has sparked a wave of emotional and spirited reactions from the team’s players, who described the victory as a result of unity, trust, and consistent belief in their collective strength.
Pacer Haris Rauf said, “The way we played the whole tournament, it never felt like we couldn't win.”
He also emphasized the importance of team effort, stating, “We don’t rely on any one player, we trust the entire team.”
Pacer Salman Mirza said that he had confidence in the team’s ability to chase down the target.
“Given the nature of the pitch, we were sure we could achieve the target,” he remarked.
Reflecting on Lahore's intense journey throughout the tournament, he added, “For us, every match was like a final.”
He also credited captain Shaheen Afridi for his exceptional leadership, calling his captaincy “brilliant.”
Middle-order batter Abdullah Shafique praised Sikandar Raza for his match-winning cameo, highlighting his dedication.
“Sikandar travelled such a long way and played superbly,” he said, pointing to Raza’s impactful 22 runs off just 7 balls that sealed the victory one ball before the end.
Sikandar Raza, in his signature humorous tone, shared a light moment after the match, saying, “Dinner in Birmingham, breakfast in Lahore,” alluding to his tight schedule and instant impact upon arrival.
Star batter Fakhar Zaman underlined the camaraderie in the Qalandars' camp, stating, “The whole world saw we played like a family.”
All-rounder Mehdi Hasan called the title win a “truly special moment” for everyone involved.
