Sons find bride for 90-year-old Pakistani man

In a touching and unusual event in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four sons fulfilled their 90-year-old father’s long-cherished wish by arranging his marriage.

The wedding took place in Bisham, a town in Shangla district, where Maulana Saifullah tied the knot in a ceremony attended by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and local residents.

According to family sources, the sons took the initiative to find a suitable bride for their father and organized the wedding with great respect and affection. The dower (haq mehr) was set at one tola of gold.

This heartwarming story echoes a similar incident earlier in 2024, when a 95-year-old man in Kenya married his 90-year-old longtime love—more than six decades after they first met.

“We met and fell in love in 1960, do you hear?” said Mbogo, speaking outside a church in Mukurweini, a town northeast of Nairobi.

“Although we were already married under Kikuyu customs, we wanted to celebrate our bond with a Christian church wedding.”
