Ishaq Dar reaches New York to attend UNSC session
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minster Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar reached New York on an official three-day visit on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The deputy prime minister is in New York for an official visit from 26-28 May.
During the visit, Ishaq Dar will attend high-level UN Security Council Open Debate on “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System”, being convened under China’s Presidency of the UN Security Council.
The deputy prime minister will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts, as well as senior UN officials.
On arrival, Ishaq Dar was received by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and Consul General of Pakistan in New York Aamer Ahmad Atozai.
