Farewell ceremony held at Joint Staff Headquarters in honor of CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad

Special farewell ceremony was held at Joint Staff Headquarters to bid farewell to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on his retirement on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

According to an ISPR press release, former Chairman Joint Chiefs and senior officers of all three armed forces attend farewell ceremony of General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on his 40 years of distinguished military service. 

Addressing the ceremony, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza thanked Allah Almighty and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistani Armed Forces. 

General Sahir Shamshad saluted the martyrs and their families and appreciated the sacrifices of the armed forces for the defense of the country. 

He said that strong defense was the foundation of national security in the current geo-strategic environment. 

General Sahir Shamshad said Pakistan's defense is impregnable as the forces were ready to face every challenge. 

On the occasion, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was presented with a guard of honor by the contingents of the three armed forces upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters.
