Police says Farrukh Khokhar released after confirmation of his weapons
Islamabad Police on Wednesday took Farrukh Khokhar into custody for allegedly possessing illegal weapons, officials confirmed.
According to police, Khokar was detained at the Zero Point checkpoint, where law enforcement personnel reportedly recovered unlicenced weapons from his vehicle. Following the arrest, he was transferred to the Aabpara Police Station along with the recovered arms.
Police officials say legal proceedings have been initiated in accordance with relevant arms control laws.
Farrukh Khokhar is the son of well-known Islamabad figure Taji Khokhar. He had recently made headlines after joining the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl on July 18.
Further investigations are underway, police added.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police said Farrukh Khokar was released from Aabpara Police Station after confirmation of his weapon.
