Pakistan leads Muslim countries in raising voice against France: Tahir Ashrafi

Prime Minister’s Special Representative on Religious Harmony Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has said Muslim countries are appreciating Pakistan government’s stance against French blasphemous caricatures and the country will lead to putting a stop on blasphemous caricatures.

“Pakistan is the first country among Muslim countries that called French Ambassador and lodged its strong protest over the issue,” he said.

He said Pakistan wants a permanent solution to stop blasphemous content.

Tahir Ashrafi said the issue of blasphemous caricatures will be taken up at the forum of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), European Union (EU) and the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

“We are in coordination with the Muslim countries and will surely lead the other countries to put a stop on blasphemous caricatures,” he added.

He announced to started Inter-faith harmony councils at all levels.

A representative of Pakistani Christians community, a pastor said, “Pakistani Christians fully support Pakistan government’s stance against the blasphemous caricatures. “We condemn this act on all forums and will raise this issue with our connections at the international level,”

Tahir Ashrafis said France has hurt the sentiments of Muslims.

The Special Representative said Prime Minister Imran Khan has already raised the desecration of sanctities at every forum.

Tahir Ashrafi said love for holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) more than anything else in the world is part of our faith.
