Preparations for new10-year PSL franchise agreement enter final stage

Preparations for a new 10-year Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise agreement have entered the final stage as representatives from a famous chartered firm met with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore on Sunday, 24NewsHD TV reported.

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer and Chief Operating Officer Sameer Syed also attended the meeting.

During the session, Mohsin Iqbal and his team from EY MENA presented the PSL valuation report to the PCB chairman.

Chairman Naqvi reviewed the report in detail and raised several questions regarding the valuation findings.

He directed the chartered firm to hold meetings with all PSL franchises to ensure transparency and consultation before finalizing the new agreement.

Naqvi instructed that the new franchise agreements be completed as soon as possible.

The fresh contracts will be based on the valuation report prepared by the firm, which will determine the updated market value of the PSL franchises.

The contracts of the six existing PSL franchises are set to expire in December this year.

Under the new structure, the total number of PSL franchises is expected to increase from six to eight.

According to PCB sources, the new long-term agreements will be offered only to eligible and compliant franchises.
