Much awaited Lal Sindh Chaddha’s release further delayed
Release of Much awaited film Lal Sindh Chaddha of Bollywood’s megastar Aamir Khan has been further delayed, announced Aamir Khan Productions.
The production house took to its Instagram to announce that the film will not be released as per its earlier schedule due to Covid-19 related issues.
The post reads, "We welcome the decision of the administration to allow cinemas to re-open from 22nd October. Due to delays faced as a result of our film, Lal Singh Chaddha, this Christmas.
Now we will be releasing Lal Sindh Chaddha on Valentine’s Day 2022."
Laal Singh Chaddha is a comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios, and Paramount Pictures. An adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Naga Chaitanya. The adaptation of Forrest Gump, underwent a series of changes over a period of two decades, with Atul Kulkarni spending the first ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights. Aamir Khan who bought the rights of the film in early 2018, announced the film officially on 14 March 2019, with its title.
Laal Singh Chaddha has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations. The production was halted in March 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in India due to which the film initially scheduled for Christmas 2020 cinema release was delayed by an entire year to Christmas 2021.
Once again, the production house announced the delay to 14 February 2022.
