Bollywood live show in UK postponed amid rising Pakistan-India tensions

The Bollywood Big One, which was schedule to take place at Co-op Live Manchester on Sunday (May 4) and at OVO Arena Wembley on Monday (May 5) amid the rising political tensions between Pakistan and India. 

The mega event was aimed at celebrating cinema, music and dance that spans generations and it was being dubbed as one of the biggest live Bollywood spectacles in history.

A statement shared by an Instagram page says, "We are writing to inform you of an important decision regarding the Upcoming UK shows. 

"After careful consideration and in light of the recent developments between India and Pakistan, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the tour.

"As organisers, we hold a deep responsibility to protect the wellbeing of everyone involved – from the Artists and Crew, to our Audiences and Partners. Given the high-profile nature of this event and the prominence of the Artists, we must be mindful of the wider context and how it may affect public perception and media coverage.

"Our UK audience is proudly diverse, with cities like London & Manchester home to a significant South Asian community, including both Indian and Pakistani heritage. In recent days, we’ve received numerous calls and messages from British Asian media and community representatives, expressing concern and urging sensitivity around the current climate.

"While we understand how disappointing this news may be, we believe rescheduling is the most respectful and responsible course of action. Proceeding with the show as planned could open the door to unintended controversy and risk reputational damage to the artists, the show, and the wider industry.

"We are fully committed to delivering an exceptional event at a later date, once the environment is more suitable. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, professionalism, and support during this time."
