Punjab Govt sets up 263 relief, 161 medical camps in flood-hit areas 

On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, rescue and relief operation has been ‎launched for flood victims across Punjab in flood and rain hit areas, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. ‎According to officials, floods in the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers have affected 61,126 citizens from 769 villages ‎in Punjab. ‎

To address the crisis, 263 relief camps and 161 medical camps have been established, providing food, medical ‎treatment, and temporary shelters. A state of emergency has also been imposed in hospitals, and staff leaves have ‎been cancelled.‎ 

Pets and animals in rural areas have been shifted to safer places by boats, while displaced residents are being moved to ‎temporary shelters. More than 150,000 people in 333 villages along the Chenab River have been affected, with 133 ‎villages in Sialkot, 16 in Wazirabad, 20 in Gujarat, 12 in Mandi Bahauddin, 100 in Chiniot, and 52 in Jhang ‎inundated. Relief efforts include 78 relief camps and 28 medical camps. Meanwhile, 70,358 people from 101 ‎villages along the Ravi River spanning Narowal, Nankana, Kasur, and Sahiwal have also been hit by floods.‎ 

Provision of food, water, and other essentials continues in Sambrial, Sialkot, and Pasrur, with the Pakistan Army, ‎District Administration, Police, Rescue 1122, PDMA, and other agencies jointly participating in the operation. ‎

In total, 380,768 citizens from 335 villages along the Sutlej River have been affected. To support them, 104 relief ‎camps and 105 medical camps are functioning in Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Multan, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, and ‎Bahawalpur. CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised the efforts of institutions, officers, and soldiers. She expressed that ‎rehabilitation of every family affected by the floods in Punjab is my mission.‎ Punjab Chief Minister visited River Ravi at Ravi bridge to review the flood situation.
