PIA suspends two female flight attendants over altercation
Two female flight attendants of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were suspended after they became involved in a physical altercation at Jeddah Airport, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the international departures area of Jeddah Airport before a PIA flight bound for Multan. According to reports, the argument between the two cabin crew members escalated into a fight, prompting the intervention of a national airline officer who separated them.
A video of the altercation later surfaced on social media, drawing public attention to the incident. A PIA spokesperson confirmed that the incident took place on December 23.
Following the incident, the PIA administration took immediate notice of the matter and suspended both flight attendants pending further inquiry. PIA spokesperson Saeed Ahmed said the airline has initiated an internal investigation and reiterated that strict disciplinary action is taken in cases of misconduct.
PIA officials stated that maintaining professional conduct and discipline among staff is a top priority, especially during international operations.
