The Pak-Afghan border at Chaman was reopened for passengers and trade on Sunday after a three-day closure, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The tribal elders and religious leaders from Chaman called on the Kandahar governor and other Afghan authorities and held negotiations for reopening of the border.
The negotiations were successful following which the Pak-Afghan border at Chaman was reopened after a three-day closure.
Earlier, hundreds of people were stranded Saturday at a key border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan following a clash between security forces of the two countries.
It is to be noted here that border tensions have risen since the Taliban’s return to power last year, with Pakistan alleging militant groups are planning attacks from Afghan soil.
The Afghan Taliban deny harbouring Pakistani militants, but they are also infuriated by a fence Islamabad is erecting along its 2,700km long border with Afghanistan.
