CTD nabs banned outfit’s operative from Karachi

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested an operative of outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Garden area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday. 

According to the CTD spokesperson, the arrested suspect was identified as Muhammad Sadiq, and he was involved in communal riots and target killing incidents. 

It was learnt that the accused murdered Seth Ghulam Murtaza in 2004 after they got into a heated conversation over communalism in New Karachi.

During the interrogation, the accused also revealed that he along with his accomplices, subjected the Ayub Naqvi of target killing in October 2010.

Following that, the accused went into hiding fearing arrest. 

The CTD In-charge Chaudhry Ghulam Safdar said that the accused is being further investigated, and important revelations are expected.
