Fog engulfs Lahore, airport closed

Authorities closed the Lahore airport as dense fog reduced visibility to 300-meter on the runaway, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The flight operation was revised; Flight TK714 from Istanbul arrived in Lahore at 1:00 pm with a delay of 7.5 hours and the BA259 flight landed at Lahore airport four hours behind schedule. Flights to Istanbul and London were delayed for 6 hours and three and a half hours respectively.

Various sections of Motorways were also closed because of poor visibly and the officers made an appeal to the commuters to limit their journey and adopt protective measures to avert disaster. Motorway M2 from Lahore to Sheikhupura, M11 Lahore to Sialkot, M3 from Lahore to Jaranwala were closed.
