Bella Hadid and Adan Banuelos break up after 2 years of dating

American model Bella Hadid and champion horse trainer Adan Banuelos have reportedly ended their relationship after spending roughly two years together, marking a sudden and emotional shift for the supermodel’s increasingly private personal life.

The 29-year-old fashion star and the high-profile equestrian, who is a major figure on the competitive cutting-horse circuit, are said to have separated recently, according to Entertainment Tonight. The breakup is described as particularly heavy for Hadid, given how deeply invested both she and Banuelos had become.

A source told ET that Hadid is struggling to come to terms with the end of the relationship, saying, "She's still processing it," and stressing that what they shared had been "very serious." The insider added that the split has carried real emotional weight because of how committed the pair were to one another.

In the aftermath, Hadid has reportedly been throwing herself into work projects and leaning on her inner circle, choosing to stay busy and surround herself with close friends to "distract herself from the split."

Despite the breakup reports, the two continue to follow each other on Instagram, offering no public confirmation or visible fallout online. Their romance first caught attention in October 2023, when they were seen together in Texas, a state Hadid soon began spending extensive time in. During that period, she was frequently spotted at rodeos and equestrian events.

By February 2024, the relationship was openly acknowledged on social media, with Hadid posting affectionate photos of the couple wearing matching cowboy hats, signaling that things had moved well beyond casual dating.

Throughout their relationship, Hadid spoke about how grounding and stabilizing life felt during her time away from the traditional fashion spotlight. She often credited her move to Texas with giving her peace, routine, and emotional balance.

The reported breakup represents another personal turning point for Hadid, who has been open in recent years about focusing on her health and mental well-being while managing chronic Lyme disease.

The Daily Mail has contacted Hadid’s representatives for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication. Neither Hadid nor Banuelos has publicly addressed the reported split.

In April 2024, Hadid revealed she was stepping back from modeling after relocating to Texas with her "partner," emphasizing a new approach to life and work. Speaking to Allure, she said, "For the first time now, I'm not putting on a fake face. If I don't feel good, I won't go. If I don't feel good, I take time for myself."

She continued, "And I've never had the opportunity to do that or say that before."

Reflecting on her improved health and mindset, she added, "Now when anybody sees me in pictures and they say, I look happy, I genuinely am. I am feeling better; my bad days now were my old good days."

Banuelos, meanwhile, is a highly respected figure in the cowboy world. He was inducted into the NCHA Riders Hall of Fame at just 28 years old, becoming the youngest person ever to receive the honor.

As recently as May 2025, Hadid spoke warmly about Banuelos in an interview with British Vogue, describing his drive and long-term hopes to "hopefully build a home and a family one day." She shared, "Family is on my mind," adding, "I can't wait to be a mom. I think that I'm somebody for a lot of people, but in the real intimate way of being the person that somebody can count on consistently, that will change my life for me."

She went on to say, "And I cannot wait. I never grew up being like, "Oh, I have this vision of marriage." I have this vision of being a mother. But it's got to a point where I'm like: "You know what? That's something that's for me." I think that would make me truly happy."

In the same interview, Hadid revealed that she met Banuelos while visiting her mother, Yolanda Hadid. At the time, she said he had no idea who she was and described him as a refreshing presence in her life.

"He basically came in, walked into the exhibit hall, which is where we do all of the show stuff," she recalled. "I was getting a cowboy hat fitted. I just saw him and I was like that's the… I always wanted the cowboy. And he's pretty gorgeous, let me tell you something."

Banuelos also reflected on their meeting in a 2024 interview with W Magazine, joking that "if it wasn't for horses" he would "have never met the love" of his life.

"It's a passion that her whole family shares," he said. "I was just a lucky guy that said hi. I didn't really know who I was saying hi to."

He added, "I just knew, she's gorgeous. And if I would've known, I probably would've stuttered my way right out it."

Speaking about Hadid’s riding ability, Banuelos said, "She's very natural, very good at it. All animals, not only horses, love her. Her lifestyle is a lot of fashion and it looks glamorous and this and that, but at heart, she's a cowgirl."

One month earlier, Banuelos confirmed that Hadid had moved into his fifth wheel trainer RV, sharing the detail during an episode of the Along For The Ride podcast.

"She did do the 5th wheel, happily. It was bada**," he said. "It was cool because I really wanted that to be a part of our relationship. You know, you start having feelings for somebody and you start thinking things like, 'Man, maybe this is the rest of my life here.'"

He continued, "And knowing that she is that simple of a human being [and] that the material things aren't important - or the most important thing."

Banuelos later summed up his feelings with unfiltered admiration, saying, "Man, I can't tell you how happy I am. I can't tell you how fortunate I am... this young lady is one of the kindest, biggest-hearted and sweet person I've [ever met]. I mean I didn't know God made 'em like that."
