Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of party leaders in Bani Gala to confirm the name of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s prime minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Reportedly, PM Khan has finalized three names for the AJK prime minister. These included: Tanveer Ilyas, Barrister Sultan Mehmood and Anwarul Haq.

Barrister Sultan is regarded as the most favoured candidate for the PM slot. However, the final decision would be taken by Premier Khan himself.

PM Khan has summoned a meeting of senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf at Bani Gala for choosing the candidate for AJK premier.

Sources informed that Chaudhry Haq has left for Bani Gala.

Out of 45 seats in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) assembly for which the elections were held on Sunday, the PTI clinched 25 seats followed by the Pakistan People’s Party which grabbed 11 seats and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) which got six seats. The Muslim Conference and Jammu Kashmir People’s Party could win one seat each.

As the PTI got the majority, it is in a comfortable position to form a government in the AJK.
