Two dacoits killed in two police encounters in Lahore

Two dacoits were killed in two police encounters in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to police sources, the Crime Control Department’s anti-vehicle lifting staff from Iqbal Town Police was taking the accused, later identified as Tanveer, for the recovery of stolen goods in the Sabzazar area of Lahore.

After seeing the police, the accused’s accomplices started firing on them during which Tanveer received serious bullet wounds and died on the way to a hospital.

Later, the police shifted the dead body of the dacoit to the local hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.

Police started a search operation to apprehend the accused’s accomplices.

The second police encounter occurred in Shera Kot area of Lahore, where a Crime Control Department team was taking a notorious dacoit, Imtiaz, when some of the dacoit's accomplices opened fire on the police team. 

During an exchange of fire, dacoit Imtiaz was killed, and two of his companions fled the scene.
