Acting president signs election amendment bill into act

Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani signed the Election Bill into the act, increasing the disqualification period to 5 years.

After the approval of the bill, the authority to give the date of the elections was transferred to the Election Commission from the president.

Earlier, the acting president approved making five judges of Balochistan permanent.

They are Justice Muhammad Amir Nawaz, Justice Iqbal, Justice Shaukat, Justice Gul Hasan Tareen and Justice Sardar Ahmed.

The Parliamentary Committee recommended the permanent appointment of all five judges to the Balochistan High Court.
