Chinese citizens among five arrested in Islamabad for smuggling human body parts

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Islamabad on Saturday busted a gang, which would smuggle parts of human body and flesh to other countries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As many as five people, including Chinese citizens, were arrested during a raid at a house in Sector F-7 of the federal capital.

The FIA also recovered a large quantity of processed human placenta from them.

The suspects would obtain placenta from hospitals in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Lahore and would then sell them to other countries by showing them to be body parts of sheep.

During initial interrogation, it came to light that the suspects would smuggle placenta to Vietnam where it was used in the production of medicines.

The FIA sent these recovered samples to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for an examination.

It has emerged that Chinese citizens had established the network with the help of local facilitators.
