FIA foils bid to travel to Russia using fake documents, offloads two passengers at Islamabad International Airport
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration has foiled an attempt to travel to Russia using fake documents, offloading two passengers at Islamabad International Airport, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the action was taken during immigration clearance for passengers travelling to Russia on Uzbekistan Airways flight HY466.
The two passengers were stopped for secondary profiling after officials detected irregularities in their travel documents.
During a detailed examination, FIA officials found discrepancies in the passengers' identities and the documents they had presented.
The FIA Immigration authorities offloaded both passengers and handed them over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Islamabad, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
