The government has given some relief to consumers vis-à-vis payment of electricity bills and extended the bill payment date to April 7.
According to a notification issued by the Power Division on Friday, there will be no surcharge on electricity bills, which will be paid by April 7. Power distribution companies have been informed of the decision.
The decision has been taken in view of the coronavirus outbreak in the country and enforcement of a nationwide lockdown as part of government’s efforts to contain the virus pandemic.
