A 65-year-old scrap dealer succumbed to his injuries in Mian Munshi Hospital after allegedly being tortured by Islampura Police in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Sheikh Munir Ahmed, the deceased, was allegedly subjected to torture two days ago by four police officers of the Akram Park Chowki Police Station.
The relatives of the deceased alleged that the above-mentioned police officers had demanded a bribe of Rs15,000 from the elderly man.
“His condition deteriorated after being tortured and he was shifted to the hospital where he could not survive and died,” said relatives.
They demanded that a case should be registered against the police officers involved in the incident.
