Mother of Shaheed Amjad Farid Sabri, Asghari Begum, passed away in Karachi on Wednesday.

Her funeral will be offered in Karachi and she will be laid to rest in Paposh Nagar graveyard.

Brave Asghari Begum had constantly appeared in the television shows after her son was target killed and narrated his son’s tales and life journey. Asghari Begum frequently asked the authorities to provide justice to his son.

Well-known qawwali maestro and Sufi singer, Amjad Farid Sabri (23 December 1970 – 22 June 2016) was shot dead in Karachi in a targeted killing incident while the arrested alleged killers have confessed to the crime and the matter is still pending before the court.

Sabri was 45, and travelling from his home to a television studio to attend an iftar transmission, when two motorcycle-riders targeted him alongside his white coloured Honda Civic and opened fire.

Amjad Sabri was the son of famous qawwal Ghulam Farid Sabri and nephew of Maqbool Ahmed Sabri of the Sabri Brothers.

Amjad Sabri was laid to rest beside his father, Ghulam Farid Sabri, in Paposh Nagar graveyard on June 23, 2016.
