All offices, courts, barring schools, to remain closed on Youme Takbeer

All departments, offices and courts will remain closed in the country tomorrow on the occasion of Youme Takbeer, commemorated every year on May 28, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, the schools will remain open. For which a notification was issued on Tuesday.  

The Supreme Court issued a circular, stating it will remain shut on May 28 as notified by the cabinet division.

Similarly, the Lahore High Court (LHC) and subordinate courts will also remain closed on May 28 on account of “Youm-e-Takbeer”.

In this connection, the LHC registrar issued a notification.

As per the notification, the LHC, sessions and civil courts will all remain closed.

The nation observes ‘Youm-e-Takbeer’ to remember the nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan on May 28, 1998.

The nuclear explosions were conducted in self-defence to respond to the nuclear tests conducted by India.

On this day, Pakistan became the seventh nuclear power in the world and the first in the Muslim world after conducting nuclear tests at Chaghai in Balochistan as a response to India’s nuclear bomb tests on 11th and 13th May of the same year at Pokhran in Rajasthan state of India.

Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister of Pakistan at that time, under whom nuclear tests were carried out as major world powers urged him to avoid the tests.
