Three held in connection with fighting at Karachi’s marriage hall

An altercation between the families of a bride and a bridegroom at a marriage hall in Azizabad, Karachi led to a brawl as both sides even flung chairs at each other, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.   

The situation prompted the marriage hall owners to call the police. But the charged men even had a scuffle with the police due to which a constable, Hafiz Usman, was injured, and taken to a hospital. 

The police took three persons namely Younus Masih, Harry and Harry, son of Victor, into custody besides registering an FIR against 30 to 40 people, who, as per the police’s claim, were drunk.

Sections related to rioting, vandalism and torture on police personnel were inserted in the FIR.

Police said they were conducting raids for the arrest of the remaining persons.
