Bodies of man and woman recovered from drain in Karachi

Karachi police are investigating after the bodies of a man and a woman were recovered from a drain in the Surjani Town area on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday. 

According to rescue and police officials, the bodies were found in the Rozi Goth neighbourhood of Surjani Town and were later shifted to a hospital for legal formalities and further examination.

Rescue officials said the exact cause of death could not immediately be determined.

Police identified the deceased as Shumaila and Muhammad Ali.

According to preliminary investigations, both individuals were residents of Rozi Goth and were believed to be drug addicts, police officials said.

Authorities said further investigations were underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
