Bodies of young man and woman found in Karachi drain
Police recovered the bodies of a young man and woman from a drainage channel in Karachi’s Surjani Town area, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to police officials, the bodies were found in the Rozi Goth nullah in Surjani. The deceased were later identified as 25-year-old Shumaila and 24-year-old Mohammad Ali.
Officials said both individuals were drug addicts and lived in the nearby area. Police further stated that although the two were not married, they had been living together.
Police officials said the woman belonged to the Saraiki community, while the man was of Bengali origin.
Police officials added that no visible signs of torture or violence were found on the bodies during the initial examination.
The bodies were shifted to hospital for legal formalities and post-mortem examinations.
Investigators said the exact cause of death would be determined after medical reports are completed.
