Rasheed hints at imposition of international sanctions on TLP
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the interior minister held a press conference in Islamabad and declared that they had deployed rangers in Punjab in Karachi style.
Talking to the media, Rasheed said the Punjab government could use the rangers as per its requirement at any place and the event for the next two months.
He categorically said that the French embassy could not be closed but ensured the protesters that the French ambassador was not in Pakistan.
He said that closing the French embassy in Pakistan would damage ties with the European Union.
He said his government would not allow the protesters to play with the lives and property of people.
He also denied joining any rally of the TLP in past and suggested to Maulana Fazlur Rehman that he should try to understand the seriousness of the situation.
He added that foreign powers wanted to impose sanctions on Pakistan as they were seriously watching Pakistan's economy and nuclear assets.
