A court Tuesday rejected the bail plea of former Member National Assembly (MNA) and chairman Awami Raj Party Jamshed Ahmed Dasti, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

He filed an application through his lawyers for bail in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Muhammad Ilyas. But the court dismissed his bail petition.

Rawalpindi police arrested him yesterday as he was required by Muzaffargarh Police in a case of dishonesty. There was a case against Jamshed Dasti for not returning an ambulance worth Rs 3.8 million.

New Town police station of Rawalpindi produced former MNA Jamshed Dasti in the court of area magistrate Mubashir Iqbal that granted one-day transit remand to Kot Mehmood police, Muzaffargarh.

Muzaffargarh police station Kot Mahmood requested the area magistrate to remand accused Jamshed Dasti.

Later, Dasti was handed over to Kot Mahmood and would be produced before a court in Kot Addu tomorrow morning.

Accused Dasti is wanted in a case registered under Section 406 of the Pakistan Penal Code in 2019.

The accused was arrested last night by the Rawalpindi police during the search operation as per the rules.

Earlier, Jamshad Dasti said there is cruelty, injustice, and repression prevailing in the country.

“Our fight is for the right and truth. We have to end this ongoing hooliganism and save Pakistan,” Jamshad added.

He vowed that he was not afraid of false cases. “The thieves and robbers of the country have been brought into power and we are fighting against the mafia, he concluded.
