In a big development before the Judicial Commission of Pakistan’s (JCP) today’s meeting on the possible transfer of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges, IHC judge Justice Babar Sattar has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi, who also heads the JCP, in which he has requested him to hear him in person on the subject, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Sources told the 24News TV channel that the judge had requested CJP Afridi to hear him before the commission took up the matter of transfer of judges under Article 200 of the constitution for discussion.

Names of Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro would be considered for the transfer at today’s meeting.

It is pertinent to mention here that the CJP had opposed convening the meeting, which was called by the IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Sarfaraz Dogar at the requisition of five members.
