Sugar price turns bitter to Rs110/kg

The price of sugar in major cities of the country has shot up to Rs110 per kg, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The price of sugar in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad has gone up to Rs 110 per kg, which was previously being sold at Rs105 per kg, said the Bureau of Statistics.
The price of sugar in Quetta has also increased to Rs110 per kg and similar raise was reported from Sialkot.
However, the sugar price in Gujranwala and Faisalabad has reached Rs105 per kg as was in Multan, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, Bannu, and Khuzdar.
It is pertinent to note that the price of sugar during the PTI government’s three years in power also saw a huge increase as the commodity which was available for Rs55-59 per kg in 2018 and is now being sold at 110 per kg.
