In a significant administrative move, five new tehsils have been added in Lahore district, bringing the total of tehsils to 10, reported 24NewsHDTV channel on Tuesday.

The government’s decision aims to improve governance, financial systems, and public relief programs in the city.

After the approval of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Board of Revenue has issued the official notification of the new tehsils. According to the notification, Lahore District, previously comprising six tehsils, has now been reorganized into several tehsils with specific allocations of seats.

The new 5 tehsils include Nishtar, Wagah, Iqbal Town, Ravi and Sadar while the existing 5 tehsils include Raiwind, Model Town, Lahore Cantt, Lahore City and Shalimar.

With 5 new tehsils, the total number of tehsils in Lahore has now increased to 10.

For 5 new tehsils, the services of 5 assistant commissioners have been assigned to the Commissioner Lahore.
