Lahore Qalandars captain Sohail Akhtar won the toss in eleventh match of the Pakistan Super League’s fifth edition against Peshawar Zalmi at Pindi Cricket Stadium Friday.
The match has been reduced to 12-overs-a-side clash as persistent rain and a wet outfield delayed the start of the match by two hours at least. The toss took place at around 9:30pm, which the Qalandars won and decided to field first.
With more rain expected, the match could have been abandoned and would give some solace to Qalandars as in that scenario they would break their duck on the points table by grabbing one point.
With moisture in the air and pitch and wet outfield, it would be hard for batsmen to score freely and would be a good contest between two very good fast bowling line-ups of the event.
