The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved raising the electricity tariff by 48 paisas per unit on account of monthly fuel price adjustment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Completing the hearing of the application moved by CPPA for increasing the power price for January, the Nepra said it will release the detailed judgment after review the data.

The raise in power tariff will put an additional burden of Rs9.2 billion on the consumers

The CPPA, however, sought an increase of Rs1.17 per unit in electricity rate.
