The caretaker federal cabinet has given go go-ahead for making amendments to the Nepra and Ogra acts, 24NewsHD TV channel.

The amendments will end government's role in tariff notifications, sources said.

They added under the amendments, Nepra and Ogra will be empowered to issue tariff notifications.

The power and petroleum division will make necessary amendments to Ogra acts, the source said, adding that appellate tribunals will be created to address public grievances.
