Major crackdown against overloading on Motorways announced

Inspector General Motorway Police has announced a major crackdown against overloading on the motorways, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

In a meeting with goods transporters’ delegation in Karachi, IG Motorway Police Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry discussed overloading and effective implementation of axle load limit on Motorways.

The goods transporters also demanded for strict action against overloading indiscriminately.

Matters to control overloading from source points, ports and factories were also proposed in the meeting. 

All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association demanded for ease in issuance of heavy licenses and problems faced by drivers.

The Association also request to provide driving license facility in every sector.

The Association also demanded for stopping unauthorized challans of open body vehicles.

IG Motorways said issuance of heavy driving licenses to be started soon.

The meeting expressed determination to establish safe and organized transport system.
