Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to move Lahore High Court against acceptance of resignations of the party’s 43 parliamentarians by Speaker National Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday, quoting its sources.

The party has finalised a petition which will be filed today or on Monday.

Speaker’s letter written to Shah Mahmood Qureshi will also be attached with the petition. The Speaker, in his letter to Qureshi, had said that every member will be called in individual capacity to confirm his/her resignation.

No resignation will be accepted without confirmation, the letter had said. The court will also be apprised of the speaker’s 20-minute talks on December 29. The petition says that speaker, showing partial behaviour, accepted the resignations.

NA Speaker, on a number of occasions, had said that he will accept resignations only after confirmation.

The petition alleged that speaker approved resignations ignoring law of the land and against his own stance to please some one else.

He did not bother to meet lawmakers who visited him at Parliament and Speaker House to take back their resignations.

Approval of all these 43 resignations should be declared unlawful, said the petition.
