Fatima Sana urges positives despite ODI series defeat

Pakistan women's cricket team captain Fatima Sana has expressed disappointment over the ODI series defeat but believes the team can take valuable lessons from the setbacks, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.  

Speaking after the series, Fatima said Pakistan had made a promising start but failed to maintain the same standard of performance.

She admitted the result was disappointing but stressed that the team's focus is on taking as many positives as possible from the series to improve in the future.

The captain acknowledged that the batting-friendly pitches offered an ideal opportunity for the batters, but the team failed to capitalize.

She emphasized that whenever senior players are dismissed early, younger batters must seize the opportunity and make meaningful contributions, adding that a stronger middle order will greatly benefit the team.

Fatima highlighted several encouraging performances, praising Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas for consistently providing solid starts during the powerplay.

She commended Sidra Amin for handling pressure well and building her innings from the beginning of the series, while Muneeba Ali earned praise for her effective batting after moving to the No. 5 position.

She also appreciated the efforts of bowlers Umm-e-Hani and Nashra Sandhu, saying both have delivered impressive performances throughout the series.
