Dar condoles Saudi helicopter crash in call with Faisal bin Farhan
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Sunday telephoned Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and expressed condolences over a helicopter crash in Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Office said.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said Dar conveyed condolences on behalf of the prime minister, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the government and the people of Pakistan.
Prince Faisal appreciated Dar’s brotherly sentiments, the spokesperson said.
The two foreign ministers also discussed the latest regional situation in detail.
According to the Foreign Office, both sides reiterated their commitment to continuing efforts for peace in the region.
Dar also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace under the “Islamabad Understanding.”
The Saudi foreign minister indicated that he may visit Pakistan soon.
Dar welcomed the proposed visit and hoped it would take place at an early date, the Foreign Office said.
