FIR lodged for SOPs violation as Lahore locks down 27 areas

First FIR has been lodged for violating coronavirus SOPs in Lahore with police warning that violators may be put behind the bars as the City imposed smart lockdown in several areas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The FIR was registered at Islampura Police Station on Sunday against a citizen named Muhammad Javed, allegedly for not wearing a mask and violating other coronavirus guidelines.
The FIR was lodged under Punjab Infectious Diseases Ordinance 2020.
The CCPO Lahore stated that strict action has been initiated against violation of the SOPs as described by the Primary and Secondary Health Department.
A zero-tolerance policy will be observed in this regard, said CCPO Ghulam Muhammad Dogar.
Micro smart lockdown
In order to contain the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the authorities in Lahore have imposed a micro smart lockdown in 27 areas of the city, which will remain in force until April 9.
However, according to the TV channel, no mechanism was in place to check the movement of the citizens in these 27 areas as people are freely moving in and out.
Officials of the district administration and health workers were absent as only one policeman was deputed in each of these areas.
These areas are: Johar Town’s F2, G and N Blocks, PIA Society, Architect Society, NFC Society, Press Club Society B Block, CC DHA Phase-4, G Block Phase-5, Chaudhry Park Rashid Road, Saadi Park Mozang, C and B Block Model Town, B Block Gulberg-3, D Block State Life Insurance Society, A Block Bankers Society, L Block Valentia-1, Muslim Park Shahdara, Allama Iqbal Town’s Raza Block, Kareem Block, Kamran Block, Nargis Block, Gulshan Block, College Block and Gulshan Ravi G Block.
